Movie poster mounted on canvas advertising the 1922 silent western film The Bull-Dogger starring Bill Pickett. Pickett was an African-American rodeo cowboy credited with invented bulldogging, or steer wrestling. He appeared with the 101 Ranch Wild West Show under the name “The Dusky Demon,” and he was the first black cowboy to be inducted into the Rodeo Hall of Fame in 1971, forty years after his death.Currently not on view
