Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed on lined paper with a vertical fold running down the center of the leaf. The number "37" is written in pencil just above the first line of the body of the letter.Robert Purvis writes to William Lloyd Garrison to praise him for his recent reply to Senator Blaine "on the Chinese question." Purvis writes that "our scattered Anti-Slavery forces should be gathered" under Garrison's leadership and confront the "the 'bloody shrit' of the South, and the merciless persecution of the Chinese."
