Robbins writes: "Mrs. Rand passed an hour with me exhorting me not to make Anti-Slavery the touchstone of character, & telling me she thought I had lost spirituality of mind since I had become an Abolitionist." L. M. Robbins won't give money to the church because she gives all the money she can spare to the anti-slavery cause. Yesterday, L. M. Robbins received a long letter from Elizabeth Wheelwright from Newburyport, who has left her church
