Combination Compass and Divider of Everett Bratcher

@ Missouri Historical Society

Combination Compass and Divider of Everett Bratcher. This tool is a good representation of Everett Bratcher's 35 year cartographic career at the Defense Mapping Agency, as well as his 3 years serving as a Tuskegee Airmen with the 332nd fighter group in World War II and his lifetime interest in air and sea navigation. As a compass, this tool is a technical drawing instrument that can be used for inscribing circles or arcs. As dividers, this tool could be used to measure the distance between two points and to draw lines and circles at different ratios.
