Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.John Greenleaf Whittier writes to William Lloyd Garrison about a "sweeping charge against Liberty party journals of having for their object to aid [President James K.] Polk & Texas & c." Whittier explains his behavior and claims "justice", stating that "unless William Lloyd Garrison has ... changed from what he was when we stood shoulder by shoulder in the old struggles of abolition I shall not claim it in vain."
