Description

Letter from D.T. Nettles of Memphis, TN encouraging Virgil Blossom to stand against desegregation in Arkansas public schools. Mmephis 5, Tennessee, January 24th, 1956. Mr. Virgil Blossom, Supt., of Education; Little Rock, Ark. Dear Sir;- I and many others congratulate you on your highly stand on segration like I saw in the Memphis Press Scimitar last even- ing, by turning negroes away from white Schools. You have plenty of backing of the American people, especially in the South. I am glad as well as others I have talked with and it is very encoura- ging to know that you and thousands of others are aware of the menace that is confronting us in our way of life. We all know if this menace is not curbed in its infancy it will grow into seri- ous touble for God says let every thing be of its kind and of its king. I am affraid God will destroy us all if we let the rac- es mix like He has done in the past. We must let those in power know we insist on segration no matter what the cost. I think all States especially in the South should pattern after Mississippi as they will not have segregation in that State and I hope others will follow them. Keep up the good word and not let the Negro lov- ing bunch take over our liberties of American freedon and our way of life. Lets keep Whites awhite and Negroes Black like God...
