Lloyd Garrison, Sec."May is notified of his appointment as a delegate of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society to the Annual Meeting of the American Anti-Slavery Society in New York on May 12, 1840. His attendance is urged, for "...business of great importance, involving the integrity of the Anti-Slavery cause, is expected to be brought before the Society."
