Pine writes William Lloyd Garrison expressing his concern to have learned from John R. Neill's letter to Frederick Douglass of Garrison and George Thompson's inability to join them for their upcoming meeting, and expresses his hopes that they will be able to carry out their original plans to visit them. Pine recounts the necessity of their labor owing to the high levels of activity in the fight by pro-slavery clergy
