Description
East Hampton Town municipal records, manuscript copy of Volume G, covering the period from 1698 through 1874. Includes material from the Montauk Proprietors, the Commissioners of Highways, and the Commissioners of Schools. Also includes conveyancing, land titles, and land transfers. A couple early maps of the basic layout of East Hampton are visible within. Probate records and records on the sale and ownership of enslaved people, particularly enslaved African Americans, are also in this volume.
