Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. Above the salutation the number "120" is written in pencil and along the tail edge of the first page, "V23,P69" is also written in pencil.George Thompson writes to William Lloyd Garrison about his stay in Middletown, Connecticut, and asks Garrison to meet him there to "join in commemorating the 30th Anniversary of West India Negro Emancipation". Thompson suggests a schedule for Garrison and promises that if he comes "you will gratify all parties ... & in a word, we shall have a good time." He also sends him an excerpt from "the account given of Commencement proceedings at Amherst" (not included) and says he will write him more of his work in Middletown.
