1 film (25 min., 7 sec.) : si., col. ; 8 mm.This home movie, with descriptive title cards, documents the Light Crust Doughboys (LCD) on tour in Texas for the Star of Tomorrow Contest in January through May 1952. The film begins with the group traveling on their tour bus for the first round of the contest with stops in Marshall, Gladewater, Kilgore, Greenville, Longview, Jacksonville, Lufton, Nacogdoches, Rusk, Henderson, and then La Porte on March 4, 1952. Footage includes the LCD at the La Porte Theatre performing at segregated schools, visiting with Johnny Hicks, and touring the San Jacinto Monument (01 min., 38 sec.). The tour continues with stops in Baytown, Anahuac, Channelview, Conroe, Jasper, Livingston, Woodville, Willie, and then and then Port Arthur on March 25-27, 1952. Footage includes the LCD at the Strand Theatre and spending time by the water (06 min, 54 sec.). The tour continues with stops in Nederlands, Beaumont, Port Neches, and Mineola on April 3, 1952. Footage includes the LCD performing at the grand opening of the Silver Creek Creamery in Mineola and friends and family of the LCD (10 min, 14 sec.). The tour continues in Orange on April 8 and 9, 1952 (12 min, 26 sec.). The tour continues to Selsby and Sugarland where they are the guest of Jack Cooper. Footage includes friends and family, Cooper's horse Lucky performing, and a visit to the Port of Houston (14 min., 49 sec.). The tour continues to Richmond, Rosenburg, Marshall, Lufkin, Baytown...
