Description

Coleman shot and killed civil rights worker Jonathan M. Daniels in Hayneville on August 20; he was charged only with manslaughter and was found not guilty. This image was used in the article and photo spread "Lowndes County Justice," which appeared on page 3 of The Southern Courier for October 9-10, 1965.
