Sprinter Ralph Metcalfe wins 220-yard preliminary, ahead of (L-R) Lafayette from Michigan State University, Adamson from the University of Iowa, Peyton Glass from Oklahoma A & M, E. Meyer of the University of Texas, and Renwick of the University of Michigan. Most of the track infield at the University of Chicago is visible.
