Madison, Wisconsin 1969. Father Groppi's annotation, "Father Groppi at Madison, Wisconsin during the welfare demonstrations. The assembly Chambers were occupied for 17 hours to protest the budget cuts to welfare recipients. Father Groppi is being sued for up to 15,000 dollars for the damage done to the assembly chambers. He was put in jail for a contempt of the assembly charge, and is facing a state disorderly charge for the same demonstration.Grayscale
