Description

Collected from: Mrs. T.M. Davis Fayetteville, Ark. April 30, 1962 Reel 406, Item 3 There was another preacher that sent his little neger boy over to the neighbors to get a pound of butter he was supposed to have for dinner and he wanted to get it before he came home from church. And the preacher went on to church. By the time the little neger boy got to church, the preacher was already in his sermon and his topic was about Paul, the Apostle. And I don't know what his text was or anything, but he was right in the middle of a sentence. He said,"And what did Paul say?". The little neger boy squirmed uncomfortable like and the preacher said ,"And what did Paul say?" Then the little neger boy raised up and said, "mahster, Mr. Paul done said you couldn't get any more butter until you paid for that you already done got." Collected by: James R.
