Hearings held to obtain the public's view of how congressional and state legislative districts should be reconfigured to reflect New York State's population as counted in the Census of 2010 pursuant to the requirements of the U.S. Constitution, the N.Y. State Constitution, and the Voting Rights Act; Also included are transcripts of public meetings held after some hearings to discuss how demographic data will be made available to the public and how it will be used to plan redistricting. Under consideration are: census data, state and federal election data, inmate population data, citizenship data; Senator Michael F. Nozzolio and Assemblymember John J. McEneny, co-Chairs.
