In this interview, native Memphian Russell B. Sugarmon talks about his early life and recounts his prolific political career. He describes his early work reorganizing the previously weak Shelby County Democratic Club, his legal defense of demonstrators arrested during sit-ins, and his famous campaign to run for County Commissioner in 1959.
