Wooden Straightedge of Everett Bratcher

@ Missouri Historical Society

Wooden straightedge of Everett Bratcher. This tool is a good representation of Everett Bratcher's 35 year cartographic career at the Defense Mapping Agency, as well as his 3 years serving as a Tuskegee Airmen with the 332nd fighter group in World War II and his lifetime interest in air and sea navigation. A straight edge is a bar with one accurately straight edge, used for testing whether something else is straight.
