Description
Modjeska Simkins is a civil rights activist from Columbia, S.C. In this interview conducted by Jhan Robbins, Simkins discusses her upbringing in Columbia during a period of racial segregation, her education at Benedict and her professional life and connections with Booker T. Washington High School, the State Tuberculosis Association and Victory Savings Bank. Simkins also discusses her work as Secretary of the South Carolina branch of the NAACP.
