This cartoon shows a man wearing a shirt labeled The American People in the foreground looking down on the Capitol building in Washington D.C. that is surrounded by a mob with a banner overheard reading Tent City Mop-Up . Jack Knox was a political cartoonist for the Memphis Commercial Appeal from 1934-1945 and the Nashville Banner from 1946-1975.
