Describes new quarters in an old English lodge, where he is in the same building with Captain Owen, Lt. Col. Jeffrey, Lt. Col. Copeland, Capt. Nelson, Capt. Todd, Cap, etc. Also describes weather, flowers and shrubbery, local customs, people, cheap prices, and how well his Val-Pak has kept his clothes. Remarks that "Negro and white commingle to a degree that would astound some Americans--and the Army will tolerate no drawing of the color line." Handwritten on five Commercial Cables forms.
