Hmong Handwork (Firm : Saint Paul, Minn.)

Description

Blue cotton dress length tunic with red sleeves. Multicolored bands of cotton appliquéd at neck, upper sleeves, and surplice front. Open on both right and left sides from sleeve to bottom of tunic. Upper right front ends at waist. Surplice wrap with center front insertion of green cotton. Green cotton bordered by decorative band. Traditionally worn with pants. Collected by Corrine Pearson on Thailand trip, circa 1986.
