Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on stationery reading, "Wm. Still, Author of 'The Underground Railroad,' 244 South 12th Street. Philadelphia" along the head edge of the first page. Under the salutation, the number "14" is written in pencil.William Still writes to William Lloyd Garrison informing him that he has sent him a copy of his book, "The Underground Railroad." Still writes that this is "the first copy I have sent to any body" and he assures Garrison that he will soon send him "a more handsome edition" when it is released.
