Description

Holograph, signed with initials.Anne Warren Weston describes the capture of Anthony Burns, a fugitive slave. She thinks that "it was better that the rescue should have failed than that none should have been attempted." She gives an account of the crowds around the courthouse, etc. She describes Mrs. Ann Terry Phillips. She comments on Harriet Beecher Stowe's new book.
