Harris may have photographed this wrecked Owl Cab company taxi no. 56 (ca. 1948 Ford Super Deluxe four-door sedan) to support an insurance claim. A child stands on the sidewalk beside it. Owl Cab company was the only Black owned cab company in Pittsburgh for many years, established in 1948. Owl Cab was owned by Dr. Silas Knox and his partner and was located at 16 Perry Street in the Hill District.
