Description
Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Elizur Wright Jr. writes to Amos A. Phelps about Phelps' proposition to be brought before the Committee. He writes, "That Congress should feel the full force of Anti-Texas sentiment in the northern states seems very important. A mass of pointed extracts from the political papers might be called, which have already been repetititve voluminously in the Anti-Slavery papers, which would warn approve and enlighten our honorable representatives." He also discusses his thoughts on "The Appeal" and remarks, "Whenever any man or body of man, has come in conflict with the true Anti-Slavery doctrines, I believe the American society has not been slow or feeble in giving battle." He also writes about Garrison and the Liberator.
