Description
Holograph, signed.William Lloyd Garrison wrote this letter of introduction for Mr. Benjamin Drew, who is the bearer of this letter, to John P. Jewett, a Boston publisher. Garrison explains that Benjamin Drew has obtained narratives from fugutive slaves in Canada about their experiences in slavery and their flight and has "prepared and interesting and well-written manuscript on the subject." Jewett should consider publishing Drew's manuscript.J.P. Jewett published Benjamin Drew's manuscript in 1856 as: "A North-Side View of Slavery."
