Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript's date is written in pencil with a question mark and says probably underneath in top right corner.James Miller McKim writes to Mary Anne Estlin in regards to reading her letter sent to Miss Pugh and urges her to take care of her health. He says, "The cause...can do without you...you have everything in the world that is desirable except good health." He writes of personal matters, including his friendship with her, her father, and his death. He quotes Ralph Waldo Emerson when he speaks of human character. He writes of James and Lucretia Mott. He dined with fellow abolitionists. He looks forward to visiting her again at 47 Park Street but also looks forward to her visit to the U.S.
