Garrison." on top-left of recto.Manuscript annotated on recto, with "Mary" and "of Bristol, England" appearing in pencil above the "Miss Carpenter" mentioned in Ware's opening line.William Robert Ware informs William Lloyd Garrison that Mary Carpenter, recently arrived in the United States from England, is spending a few days at his sister's residence, and requests on their behalf that Garrison will pay them a visit during her stay. Ware opines that the health of Helen Garrison would prevent her from joining Garrison in visiting Carpenter.
