Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. In the head- spine corner of the first page, a checkmark is drawn in pencil above the number "109", also in pencil. Along the fore edge of the first page, next to the salutation, there is a purple, oval stamp containing the words, "Garrison MSS." Just above the stamp, the number "1846" is also written in pencil, while in the tail- spine corner the number "110" is written in pencil.The folder contains an envelope addressed to "William Lloyd Garrison Feithams Darlington[.] Care of Miss Pease." and in the head- spine corner the number "110" has been added in pencil. The verso of the envelope is postmarked with a stamp that reads "Darlington OC 15 1846 B" and the envelope is closed with a red, circular seal.George Thompson writes to William Lloyd Garrison sending him "yesterday's Patriot" and advising him to "read the extracts from Dr. Cox's letter to the N. York Evangelist". He says he envies Garrison "for the pleasure of being with our dear friend" and asks him to "present my kindest regards to Elizabeth" [Pease Nichol].
