Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Manuscript annotated on recto, with "96" in pencil along top-right margin of page, and "Garrison MSS." stamped in blue innk beneath letterhead date/address.Manuscript addressed on verso to "Mr. William L. Garrison, Esp / Editor of the Liberator. Boston".Affixed to pages no. 2 & 3 of manuscript are brief newsprint clippings.A. A. Pembroke writes William Lloyd Garrison concerning a letter by William Cooper Nell published in the Liberator concerning the "proceedings of a meeting held in the Belknap street church", and offers his coorection of its "most glaring misrepresentations" concerning the debate regaring the Abiel Smith School. Pembroke harshly critiques Nell's characterizations of the evening, and criticizes proponents of closing the Smith School.
