Description

The Case of Philip Lawrence" is a gripping melodrama that depicts a cross section of Harlem life wherein a famous Olympic star, unable to obtain a legitimate means of livelihood, is forced to accept a job as "master of ceremonies" in a night club operated by racketeers. A gangster who tries to muscle in is murdered, and the racketeers pin the crime on Lawrence. He is tried and found guilty of murder in the first degree. Will he burn?
