Poster advertises Afrikan Continuum, a celebration of African culture at home and abroad during the spring semester in 1991.The celebration included art displays: "Januwa Moja African Roots - American Fruits," and an "Exhibit of West African Art;" a theater performance of "Paul Robeson" starring Avery Brooks; two dances: "Ebony Expressions" and "Afi and Rockameed;" three talks about traveling in Africa, and a lecture by Dr. Francis Cress Welsing and Ivan Van Sertima about the "African Presence in the Early Americas."A free film series featured the movies: Emitai, South Africa: The Wasted Land, Water for Tonoumasse, Chuck Davis - Dancing through West Africa, The Harder They Come, Gunga Zumba, Quilombo, and Yeleen.The celebration also included several musical performances: Dayspring Gospel Show, Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, Kwame and Wan Afrika, and the John Watkins Group.
