Holograph, signed with initialsWilliam Lloyd Garrison tells about his trip to Syracuse and Albany. In Albany, he visited with Lydia Mott. Garrison writes: "I see the Copperhead sheet, the Syracuse Union and Democrat, this morning, has an article about my lecture, trying to stir up violence against me after the old style." William Lloyd Garrison was accompanied by Ellie Garrison (Mrs. William L. Garrison Jr.) in his travels. They encountered extreme cold and a high wind in Syracuse. He expected a small audience owing to competition from a religious revival. George William Curtis had "only a baker's dozen to hear him" speak
