Whittier, John G
Description
In an essay, John C. Whittier recalls hearing two Mormons preach about faith and discusses why Mormonism is so appealing to so many. He believes that the Mormons, though deluded, are sincere in their faith and that Joseph Smith was a martyr. Whittier reflects on the prophet’s death and on his legacy, the Nauvoo Temple.
