Description

Judith "Judy" Diamond '52, stands at the microphone while the Bard Band plays backup. The Band performed Dixieland Jazz, and was led by Skip Strong '51, Herbert "Herb" Severtsen '53 on piano, Jordan King on trumpet, Whitney "Whit" Bolton? '51 on clarinet, Jerry Bucci on saxophone, and Bob Weigt on drums, and according to the yearbook, "was active at all Bard Beer Balls." Written on verso is this: "WXBC on the air -- weekly variety show broadcast from the stage of WXBC." An attached newspaper clipping states: "Bard's radio station, WXBC, has been presenting a weekly half-hour show this fall over station WKIP in Poughkeepsie. A variety show alternates with a dramatic program. The students broadcast directly from their own studios in the basement of North Hoffman or from the stage of the theatre in Orient Hall."
