Derogatory depiction of a well-dressed African American couple discussing the "new fashion shirt" that the man is wearing. "Miss Florinda," who wears a green and yellow headpiece and a low-cut blue dress, holds her fan coquettishly near her face. She states that she finds the fashion elegant and how his wearing it within the "Abolition siety" made him look like "Pluto de God of War!"; Inscribed in upper right corner: Plate 9.
