Three workmen (two white, one African American) stand on the ground to help to anchor the Rockefeller Center's 1953 choice for a Christmas tree, a Norway spruce, to a crane. An unidentified white woman stands by the forest watching on the left side of the photograph. The Lorain brand of crane is operated by Herms & Young, Morristown, N.J. Crane Service.
