Description

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Amos A. Phelps writes to Francis Jackson to resign from his position as a member of the Board of Managers of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society and as the recording secretary of the same. He says the Society has strayed away from its original character and principles, and it is “no longer an anti-slavery society simply, but has become, in its principles and modes of action, a woman’s-rights-non-government-anti-slavery society.”
