Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white stationery belonging to the "American Freedman's Union Commission." The letterhead reads "American Freedman's Union Commission. No. 30 Vesey Street - P.O. Box 5,733. Lyman Abbott, Gen. Sec. J.M. McKim, Cor. Sec. New York." Under the salutation, the number "178" is written in pencil. On the third page, the letter is written vertically with the text facing the fore edge of the page.James Miller M'Kim writes to Samuel May about the upcoming Anti-Slavery Conference in Paris, France. M'Kim writes that he is sending three documents to May and "one of these is a report mailed for the purpose, which we expect Mr. Garrison to present to the Anti-Slavery Conference, as from us." M'Kim wishes to have copies printed and sent to Paris but confesses "How I send them I do not yet exactly know." He also discusses the success of Garrison's trip abroad including the "London Breakfast" given for him.
