Caption on back: "At a road block located near Viareggio, not far from Leghorn, Private First Class George Weatheroy, Portland, Oregon, inspects tire certificate of an Italian driver; The road block, operated by members of the 90th Military Police Company, is set up to recover military tires belonging to the U.S. Government from civilian vehicles; Civilians may have tires marked for military use, but must carry tire certificates secured from Azienda Rilievo Alienazione Residuati [ARAR], Italian agency which resells U.S. Army surplus.
