Interview with East Carolina University emeritus professor of psychology Dr. Dennis E. Chestnut. Dr. Chestnut describes his youth in Tabor City, Columbus County, N.C., and how he came to East Carolina College in 1965. He discusses the experience of being an African-American student on a predominantly white campus, various professors who influenced him, and his experiences with student organizations. He goes on to describe his time as a student at the University of Utah, and his subsequent hire by the Dept. of Psychology at East Carolina University. Interviewer: Donald R. Lennon.
