Description

Regents of the University of California v. Bakke (1978) was a landmark decision of the Supreme Court of the United States that ruled unconstitutional the admission process of the Medical School at the University of California at Davis, which set aside 16 of the 100 seats for African American students. Many proponents of Affirmative Action opposed the ruling.
