May criticizes "Amicus" for misquoting Dr. William Ellery Channing and tells Estlin that he received volume thirteen of "Chambers' Miscellany." May quotes Garrison as saying that the English "bear away the palm" for ingenuity in framing excuses for slaveholding. May defends Garrison's meddling in English politics. He refers to the loss of the "Great Britain," but discusses at length the wreck of the "Atlantic" on November 27th
