Description
This picture of two men is labeled "The Sauter-Finegan Orchestra." Eddie Sauter, on the left, was a student at Nyack High School and was one of several well-known jazz musicians who grew up in the Village of Nyack. He attended Columbia University and Juilliard. Both men were well-known composers/arrangers but their band was short-lived. Edward Ernest Sauter was born December 2, 1914 in Brooklyn and died April 21, 1981 in Nyack.
