Comstock, G. B

Description

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.G.B. Comstock writes to Samuel May stating that if Stephen S. Foster and Abby Kelley Foster could not come to Pascoag on September 5th, they can postpone the meeting until the following week, saying "the 11th & 12th will answer equally well." He promises to make the arrangements "and obtain as extensive a hearing for them as possible." Comstock then remarks that "Our Methodist brethren would as soon see his Satanic Majesty himself in our midst I suppose, as S.S. Foster, for they seem to cherish a most intense hatred towards him." He asserts that "they constantly refuse to repent and be converted to abolitionism."
