The wall surrounding the glass is paneled in rich brown wood, and the word "Museum" is written above the entrance in gold letters. Several paintings hang on the wall within the museum. Two gold planters stand outside the entrance.Dedicated in 1996, the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art includes approximately 450 works in its permanent collection. The primary focus of the collection is twentieth-century painting and sculpture by African American artists.
