Description
Breaking tradition: the non-traditional casting project. This video describes the barriers facing actors and actresses who are considered non-traditional - people of color with mental or physical handicaps. Also included are those who have a non-traditional accent or whose age is considered less than ideal. The video advocates casting actors and actresses based on their talents and merits and not their "type." Scenes from the video demonstrate a variety of ways to creatively include an ethnic presence in the theater. Hosted by the actor Raul Julia.
