Description

10:50 - 11:00 a.m. Rufus is the story of a Black Boy who has mainly two problems on his mind this morning. What he is going to eat for breakfast and how he wishes he had shoes to wear to school. Among poor Black families, food is food, and whatever theres it to eat is eaten any time of day or night: neckbones, soup, greens, or cornflakes. Breakfast may be syrup and bread, or rice and gravy, or grits and bacon grease. Rufus hurriedly eats today's selection (which happens to be cornflakes) and races to school thinking of his other problem: Shoes!
