Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Legacy catalog card identifies the date of publication of this manuscript as "14 Nov. 1864."Legacy catalog card identifies the place of publication of this manuscript as "Boston".Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. Above the salutation the number "183" is written in pencil and in the tail- spine corner of the first page, "V33,P103A" is also written in pencil. In the head- fore corner of the first page, "Boston" and "Nov. 14, 1864" are both written and underlined in a different shade of black ink and a different handwriting.George Thompson writes to William Lloyd Garrison sending him one of two photographs he received of Mrs. Nichol (not included). Thompson also passes along news of the death of Mr. John Wigham, father of Eliza Wigham, remarking that "Eliza and her mother will be very lonely." He then tells Garrison of his plans to travel to Cleveland and his homesickness, stating that "I remain un-visited, until I mope & wish for wings to fly away." Thompson repeats his offer to Garrison for an "occasional conference [which] w[oul]d be pleasant to me and sometimes, profitable to both."
